Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) : Overview, Courses, Scholarships & Rankings
About Southern New Hampshire University
You hear the word Penmen before you see the mascot. Set on a wooded campus just outside Manchester, the university mixes brick-and-glass academic halls with a bright, light filled library and a central green that turns into the gathering spot. Robert Frost Hall and the Shapiro Library are touchstones. Homecoming, pep rallies, and student-run service days keep the calendar busy. And the Penmen nickname quietly nods to early roots.
SNHU is known for practical learning in business, technology, creative disciplines, education, and the social sciences, with coursework that often folds in projects for regional partners. Students describe a supportive, try it atmosphere with plenty of clubs, athletics, and spaces to unplug. Downtown arts and the riverside mill district pull students into the city. The university is also known for a large online community, but the on-campus feel stays close-knit. A small surprise, it works.
